About Us
Momentum carries our stories forward.
What began on 26th Street in Little Village as a grassroots storytelling initiative has grown into a creative platform expanding access to media, documentation, and narrative power. Born within The Alliance 98, Momentum captures the energy of our neighborhoods while elevating stories that resonate across Chicago and beyond.
Anchored in Moments Media, Momentum is driven by movement — the urgency to create, connect, and document in a world where too many stories are overlooked or erased. Our work lives in the present moment, tracing culture as it unfolds and pushing toward what’s next.
We see storytelling as a practice, not a product. Through visual essays, conversations, profiles, and features, we explore creativity, identity, and culture with intention and care — always rooted in community.
Momentum is a home for youth and emerging creatives who move with purpose and lead with heart. We build relationships before publishing, honoring the truth that every story begins with people, not platforms.
Powered by The Alliance 98, Momentum exists as both a digital archive and an open creative space — where authenticity leads, community guides, and stories rise together.

Momentum is a storytelling platform rooted in community, culture, and creative practice. Born in Little Village and powered by The Alliance 98, we exist to document the people, places, and ideas shaping our present — and pushing us toward what’s next.
We are youth storytellers, emerging creatives, culture keepers, and collaborators who believe stories are built through trust, proximity, and lived experience. Momentum is not just what we publish — it’s how we move, connect, and show up.
-
We lead with connection before content.
Momentum prioritizes real relationships, real conversations, and real moments. We take time to listen, engage, and build trust — because the strongest stories come from shared space, not shortcuts.
Our work blends documentary practices with creative exploration through photo essays, interviews, profiles, and long-form features. Grounded in the present and responsive to the world around us, we tell stories that honor where we come from while imagining what’s possible.
-
We work alongside youth, emerging creatives, artists, organizers, small businesses, and community leaders — from 26th Street to across Chicago and beyond. Our collaborators are people and organizations committed to authenticity, cultural integrity, and community impact. Whether documenting local neighborhoods or amplifying global voices, we partner with those who understand storytelling as a shared responsibility — and a form of power.
